Acai Berry Benefits – Marketing Hype or Miracle Food?
The Acai Berry has been mentioned as a miracle food by several big names. Everyone from Oprah to the Gracies have mentioned this wonderful food, promoting Acai Berry benefits ranging from improved general health, to anti-ageing, and, in some cases, even more.
What are the Acai Berry Benefits?
The promoted Acai Berry benefits vary. Some people believe that it promotes weight loss, others say that the anti-oxidants contained in the Acai Berry can help to stave off ageing, and help with general health and well-being.
Some people claim that the Acai Berry benefits go far beyond this, mentioning specific medical conditions such as diabetes among the list of things that the Acai Berry can help with.
Are The Acai Berry Benefits Real?
The huge range of Acai Berry benefits that are being promoted makes it difficult to make a blanket statement as to whether or not Acai Berry benefits are real. It’s certainly true that the Acai Berry is an incredibly nutritious food, and it is indeed high in anti-oxidants – which do have proven health benefits. It’s also fairly low in calories – with a serving being just 100 calories.
This means that it could help with weight loss – but only in the same way that other nutritious low calorie foods help with weight loss. It is not a miracle cure.
It’s safe to say that there are benefits to this particular superfood, and it is worth trying as an addition to an already healthy diet, but if you’re looking for something that will instantly fix a specific health issue, then you’re looking in the wrong place.
Avoiding Acai Berry Scams
The Acai Berry has attracted so much attention that even scammers are trying to get in on it. They exaggerate the list of Acai Berry benefits, and charge a lot of money for foods and supplements that may contain only a small amount of the berry. If you want to avoid such scams, then you should try to purchase your berries from well-known health food stores, and rely on word-of-mouth recommendations for online retailers – don’t just blindly trust flashy advertising and on-site testimonials.
In general, the old rule of “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” should apply here. You should be fine buying frozen Acai pulp, and dried Acai, but if you see somewhere selling pills or powders that offer all the health benefits of the real thing in one simple dose per day, then you should view such an advertisement with the cynicism it deserves.
The Acai Berry is a great health food. It has a lot to offer as part of a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, and the list of Acai Berry benefits should be enough to persuade anyone that it’s a food worth trying. After all, how many other foods contain just 100 Calories per serving, and taste like blueberries and chocolate? That alone makes this lovely berry a winner in my book!

7 Top Uses for Excel in a Home Medical Claims Billing Business
Article by Jen Morrison
Medical Claims Billing is a fiercely competitive arena on the corporate level, but there’s lots of room for local mom-and-pop medical claims billing businesses in almost any metropolitan area. There are few businesses that need Microsoft Excel more than a home-based medical claims billing business. Here’s why:
You’ll Be Filing ClaimsOne of the most common activities for a medical claims billing agent is to file various insurance claims to the giant health organizations. Several of those organizations use software that takes advantage of Excel templates; if you understand how to use Excel, you can take advantage of those templates in a much more sophisticated and detailed way.
Mail Merge Will Be Your FriendBy taking those patient claims you’ve entered and setting up a Mail Merge between Excel and Word, you can easily create and send out statements of account to the patients as the first step in the collections effort.
Follow-Up is CrucialWhether you’re following up on a particular claim, appeal, or simply a delinquent payment, medical claims billing is all about knowing when you need to follow up on what. With Excel’s Email Alert function, you can have your own customer database tell you when to check on each client’s case.
Collections Can Be TrickyPart of claims billing is conducting collections efforts on your clients. By recording your attempts (and their responses) in your database, you can learn patterns of behavior that will increase the efficacy of your collections system.
No Clients, No MoneySimilarly, marketing efforts can vary remarkably in their results-per-dollar. Track your marketing efforts in Excel, and you’ll see instantly what was most profitable so you can repeat that thing more often.
Code CrackingThere are hundreds of medical codes, insurance codes, and other specialized sets of letters and numbers that medical claims billing makes use of. A one-time effort putting all of the relevant codes into Excel will produce a searchable database that can tell you everything you need to know about an unfamiliar code.
Never Miss a StepBy creating a simple Excel template with some pull-down menus, you can essentially create a flowchart of each client’s process — one that modifies itself based on things like which companies you need to communicate with, how long it’s been since the last payment, and other options. It’s a while to set up, but once made, it’s the strongest tool towards success a claims billing business can have.
Excel is the tool that makes it possible for a two-person medical claims billing business to exist, much less be functional. If you’re not an expert in Excel already, get the knowledge you need, and get your business off the ground for good.

Medical claims forms

A medical claim basically refers to the bill for the services that have been provided by a hospital or the health care facility. These services are covered by an insurance company and so are required to be paid by the company. The insurance company ordinarily pays expenses that fall within the parameters of the chosen policy.
There are many types of medical claim forms and some require interaction between the individual and insurance agent while in other cases doctors and hospitals initiate the procedure. Learning more about the procedure and the form can be helpful in completing this process in time. The forms should be filled carefully as a wrong entry may cause the claim to be denied. Different insurers require completion of different paperwork and so it is advisable to contact the relevant health insurance company so as to get the required forms completed.
The most common medical claim forms include HCFA and Form 1500. The forms available for medical claims processing tend to be standardized. The processing of the forms is done through a unique code. It is possible to download a copy of the forms from online sources. In some cases the patients may be required to make payments for the services after which reimbursement is done. The forms require standard information like name and address details, date of birth, insurance policy number as well as group number and information regarding group coverage from an employer. While filling medical claim details actual dates of doctor’s visits and medical treatments have to be mentioned along with details of illness as well as injury. It is advisable to submit medical bills in an itemized form. The insurance card should be kept handy as the account number and identification details may be needed.
In case treatment is needed for an injury additional details may be required to determine if the injury was caused by negligence on the part of another individual. Many medical offices that are required to complete the claims forms charge a fee for their services. Before filling the medical claims forms it is important to read all the instructions that are provided with the form. All doubts should also be clarified immediately so as to ensure that the most essential information is properly filled out. Medical claim forms come with a time limit in which the reimbursement can be obtained and so it is important that regular follow up with the doctor is maintained.
